June 29, 2015SHINEDOWN's video for the new song "Cut The Cord" can be seen below. The track, which is being released as a single today (Monday, June 29),is taken from the band's fifth album, to be released this summer via Atlantic. The record was produced by SHINEDOWN's Eric Bass and follows 2012's "Amaryllis", which produced No. 1 singles "Bully" and "Unity", as well as Top Five singles "Enemies", "I'll Follow You" and "Adrenaline".
The "Cut The Cord" video was directed by Darren Doane, who previously worked with SHINEDOWN on the clips for "Devour", "Sound Of Madness" and "If You Only Knew".
SHINEDOWN vocalist Brent Smith stated about "Cut The Cord": "To our fans, our family… and in your truest moment of weakness… When everyone and everything has betrayed you, and evil and hatred has wrapped itself around your mind, body and soul… this is the song that you play… This is the statement to the world that you will not give up, you will not give in, and you refuse to fail!!! Now is your time…to 'Cut The Cord'."
SHINEDOWN will embark on a very special summer tour, the platinum-certified rock band's first major trek in more than two years. The dates will see SHINEDOWN visiting theatres and other intimate venues across the country, performing a unique set that will include classic hits, deep cuts, and best of all, new songs from upcoming CD. NOTHING MORE will serve as support on the bulk of the headlining dates.
Smith told The Pulse Of Radio a while back what he thinks makes for a successful live show. "The people that come and see the shows, they don't want to see you just stand there and look as if it's their privilege to see you," he said. "It's totally the other way around, and I think that you have to embody that and I think that you have to be very respectful of your fans, and I think that you have to literally give every single ounce of your mind, body and soul on that stage, and quite frankly they don't deserve anything less."
